Melbourne Museum, oh-so-interesting.

The word museum do not appeal to a lot of the people I know.
Whenever I am excitedly talking about museum or how badly I wish to go, I do get weird stares sometimes.
Like why?? Museum can be so interesting!
Well, maybe not the one in KL but I believe museums outside of the country is worth a visit.
Even the museum in Malacca thrills me. Have yet to visit Baba and Nyonya museum!!

I had much fun reading and learning and seeing all the stuffs in Melbourne museum.
We went twice on separate days because on the first day while half way enjoying the museum someone called and we need to go home instantly because that someone is coming over to fix the phone line.
Gawd, hate it like why cant they inform us earlier instead of calling and requesting us to go home of all sudden. PFFT!!

So we went back again after a week or two to continue the journey.
Lack of time still, there’s still parts which I have not explore yet. ):
Sigh. It really does take a lot of time to finish every part of the museum, there’s too many things for me to explore.
When I have the chance, I’ll definitely go back for the third time.

* museum day (:

* the use-to-be-tram, looking so cute and lovely. I’d love to take a ride to Richmond in that tram (:

* there’s all types of crystals, in so many different shapes, forms, and colours. never in my life saw such crystals before!

* and there’s even glow-in-the-dark crystal. how amazing.

* the museum not only showcase dinosaurs, but their poops and eggs as well.

* bugs, butterflies, spiders, bees, ants, and whatnot. there’s tons of them.

* real living bugs and their home.

There’s sections on human body and mind which Ben likes the most, and then there’s section on planets and earth which appears to be the most boring to me.
Exploring human minds are fun, I’m always somewhat drawn to that.
Funny how the part that I missed out exploring is the part that showcase things related to Australia.
What a waste.

After exploring we have a slow walk back to the city enjoying the autumn breeze.
Autumn is one of the four season I like the most. The sight of the fall leaves are just too beautiful for me to ignore.
My nickname for ICQ ten years ago was AutumnGal, hahahahahah.
And some of my friends still have the funniest email address ever, haha.

* strolling around the park.

* just look at the leaves. now i wonder, why didn’t I lay down on it once.

Visiting the museum worth every dollar I paid, it’s just 8 dollars.
And if you’re a student studying in Melbourne, or Oz it is absolutely free. Students are under concession.
Trust me, it’s fun. (:

p/s: my guest ‘blogger’ asked me to introduce him to the whole world that he’ll be guest blogging and i wonder when will that be.

Party Animals

Exactly when was the last time I posted about clubbing!?
It’s like I retire from the party scene when in fact, not.
Just that I’m too lazy to sort the pictures out but here I am, doing what I should. (:

Clubbing in Melbourne is a pain in the ass during winter.
Imagine walking on the road with less than ten degree weather in a ‘skimpy’ clothing.
I mean, cant be expecting me to wear four layers of clothes like how I normally would, to a club right.
Just a cardigan over my short dress and that’s it. /freeze
And then what do I do with the cardigan in the club? Hang it in the cloak room for 5 dollars each time.
Annoying much.

And then normally there isn’t any table for us in the club, unlike here in Malaysia.
They just goes up to the bar and buy shots instead of opening bottles.
No tables, no chairs equals to no place for me to sit.
I cant be dancing in my heels for a few hours straight, I’ll probably die from exhaustion.
Unless I follow the guys to the smoking area, which is an outdoor, which means cold to death.

I guess I’m just not use to it.
But then again, the people I club with in Melbourne are nice people to hang out with (:

* first clubbing in Melbourne.

* the guys at Alumbra.

* bass lounge’s smoking area.

* look at that red face ben, haha.

* the guys enjoying their drinks at neverland.

* <3

* dennis the little brother and me.

* me and wesley, and he’s only 18!!

* moments when I’m lazy to use my camera.

* my fatty. HAHA!

* victoria and me.

* jovin (:

I feel like I’m too old for clubbing sometimes.

Sunset at St. Kilda

Sorry for the one week plus hiatus, I was extremely busy last week.
Getting up around 9 every morning, running up and down just to gather all my documents for the visa that I fail to get. ;(
I was already too late when I reached Australia Embassy, the application is full and the person in charge told me to try again next year since I’m still young.
I looked at him, blank face wanting to shout into his ears “NO!! I want it now!! NOW!!” ;(
There’s still a slight chance though, if they call me in these two weeks I might get it.
But I feel pretty hopeless already because I know that is quite impossible. Sigh, life.
For all the things that I’ve done! pfft ;(

And now blogging about Melbourne makes me miss it even more. Half of my soul stays there, in that house!!
This is the only beach Ben brought me to, St. Kilda beach. I totally forgot that I wanted to go to Brighton beach so badly, only remember it when I came back to Malaysia. Fail.

We not only went to St. Kilda for sunset, but for the cute penguins as well.
He said if I’m lucky then I’ll get to see penguins behind those rocks, after they swam back.
I was so excited when I heard funny sounds from the penguins and indeed I saw few of them hiding behind the rocks.
Cute and cuddly penguins. ;)

* It’s still Autumn when we have a little fun at St. Kilda or else I’ll be freeze to death.

* Sunny and breezy and loving it.

* And it just feels so good to lay down on the grass while the wind touches our face. Most of the couples there make out and there’s one right at the corner.

* (:

* I just wore a dress and a scarf but as time goes by, as winter visits us I wore four friggin layers and still shivers.

* Lotsa dead starfish.

* Ben sitting on rocks, no idea if he’s trying to look emo or cool.

* This beautiful sunset reminds me of Redang’s beautiful sunrise.

I had fun at St. Kilda eating ice-cream, laying down on grass, searching for penguins, looking at the sun set, and just exploring around. A very relaxing evening indeed and right now, I am so looking forward to step foot on Brighton beach and snapped tons of pictures with all the colourful huts. (;

Ben’s Birthday (:

As promised, a blog post in a day with pictures (:
A post that was supposed to come a month earlier. That shows how lazy I am, maybe I can blame it on the winter here. You know, winter just makes people lazy.

It was his birthday last week (pending post) month and we had a japanese birthday dinner because we cant help craving for japanese food after watching that hongkong sushi drama.
For the entire week I crave for sushi and it didn’t help, I miss sushi zanmai even more.
We went to this Japanese restaurant in Crown called Nobu, a restaurant opened by a celebrated Japanese chef, Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro himself.

* Sushi bar, I just love sitting there taking a quick look at these sushi masters doing their thing in between my meal. (:

* Tuna Tataki with Tozasu $22

* New Style Salmon Sashimi $18.5

* Sea Urchin $10, Japanese Chu-Toro $18 if I’m not wrong , and King Fish $5.

* Black Cod with Miso $45.5 (boyf’s favourite)

* Lobster with Wasabi Pepper Sauce $60

* Kurobuta Pork Belly with Karashi Su Miso and Nashi pear $37

Dinner was great, especially the Tuna Tataki and Salmon sashimi. *orgasmic*
But we both agreed that we should have ordered something else instead of lobster and pork belly because there really isn’t much for us to rave about on both the dishes.
Maybe we should just stick with seafood next time but nonetheless I love the dinner.
The bill came up to about $250 and if you ask me if it’s worth the price, I cant say that it’s not because indeed the food is good.
But I’ll never like the idea that it is actually that expensive.
Since it’s the boy’s birthday, I guess it’s okaaaaayyyyyyyyy. (:

We came home after dinner and I surprised him with a cake and the present I bought him all the way from Malaysia. Which is a piece of art. Yes you heard me right, a piece of art.

* Birthday boy with the lousy birthday cake I bake when he went to class that afternoon.

* Tadaaaa!! Cute isn’t?? ngehehe, really look quite like the both of us :D

And of course, camwhore a little :P

As for his birthday party surprise, well………..
Long before his birthday I asked myself, what kind of surprise should I give him.
If you didn’t know, I love giving people surprises. It makes me happy (:
Anyway, two weeks ago my friend suggested to have a barbecue session at our place.
But I suggested the following week instead with the excuse that we are short of cash but in fact I secretly told them that it’s Ben’s birthday next week. (:
Everyone agreed and keep it as a secret from the birthday boy,and he still thought that it’s because we’re short of cash.

BUT! BUT! BUT!
This blur friend of mine, accidentally spill it out when we’re having our coffee.
my blur friend: next saturday barbecue right? for your birthday..
me: stare at him intensely.
my blur friend: no meh? i thought it’s for your birthday
me: staring at him even more intense my eyeballs almost fall off with the thinking that i’m gonna kill him anytime soon.
ben: huh. for my birthday meh. *looks at me*
me: (FML!!!)
my blur friend: ooooo……………ooooooo………..sorry.
me: kill me please.

i’m not sure if i wanted to kill him or myself. like O-M-G!!!
Pfft but nehmind I planned for a back up surprise right away. I secretly changed it to friday without the birthday boy noticing.
Informed everyone secretly, and even asked my blur friend to ask him out on friday itself so that i can stay home alone and prepare everything.
It was quite a mess due to the time constraint.

I prepared all the marinates the day before.
Beef, lamb, chicken, prawn, and squid. Typing it all out now here reminds me how painstakingly I prepared all of these.
And the most horrible of all, is no doubt the friggin squid.

* I was cutting the squid into half and half way through I saw something looking back at me. I shriek so loud and throw the eerie squid back into the sink. The squid ate the fish and it’s still inside WTF!!!! I know it’s just a fish but it really is uber disgusting.

Enough of the squid. On the day itself as I planned, boyf went out without me and I stayed home preparing for the food all day. My kitchen looks exactly like a war zone that day.

* let’s barbecueeeee.

* cooked creamy tomato spaghetti, baked mushroom, caesar salad, …..

* …… and baked egg, potato and cherry tomato.

* Man, I love the candles here in Melbourne I wanna buy them all home!! So special!!

Fat Ben, I’m such a good girlfriend right? *flips hair*
ngeheheheheheheh

A month seems short yet long enough.

I’ve been away from home for almost a month now.
If you ask me have I been adapting well, my answer will be yes. Pretty good.
If you ask me is this easy, my answer will be ‘not so easy after all’.
Of course, not the holidaying, enjoying, and the waking up during noon part. That part is of course, very very easy.

All my life I’ve been staying under the same roof with my family and only my family. By family I mean my mom and my brother. And dad which is half of my life.
I’ve never stayed with uncle or grandma or anyone else for that matter.
It’s like all my life I stay with my mom and brother, I’m extremely comfortable and too used to their way of living and habits and all.

And then I’ve to move away from my very own comfort zone, home and country to a place I’m not at all familiar with.
I’m living under the same roof with this someone whom I’ve known for barely half a year.
Sounds silly?
We kind of click at the very very beginning of the relationship (and by that I don’t mean we don’t click now), the spark and all but truth to be told we barely know each other.
Is it easy to live with a person whom you’re not close with (if were to compare it with family)?

Different human being, different habit, different up bringing, basically everything different.
I love watching gossip girl while he love watching his stephen chow.
He prefers eating out while I prefer eating in.
Sometimes I’m more messy than he is.
He keeps playing his stupid fifa while me, cant stand the dirt will vacuum the house and what not.
I find it cold when he finds it hot.
You know, it’s just this and that.

It’s not easy living with a person whom you’ve not live with all your life.
And you just can never help it, there will definitely be arguments.
Arguing about some stupid shits around the house, how he hates it when I’m like this or vice versa.
But is it REALLY that hard? Nope.
Maybe it’s just the first month or maybe not, I’m not sure.
The key is of course, to compromise.
Do I compromise a lot? I cant tell, I’m not sure of myself.
It could be that I thought I compromise a lot when in fact I didn’t, or the other way round.
Did he compromise, yes he did.
He sometimes really make things hard for me but also because of how he compromise, it make things easier.

I don’t know, I just hope it wont get harder than this. For now, it’s good.
Good enough for me, but for him I’m not too sure.
Anyway, I think it’s time for me to post some pictures that have been pending for so long.
Here goes..

* one sunny day. (damn long ago, my first week here)

* australia’s tram.

* they have tons of people performing by the street, all sorts of performance. i like this one (:

* some mango ice-cream dessert thingy at passion flower. looks so nice and inviting but taste like crap. *puik*

* boys love this, that too taste like crap to me.

* blur ass picture from clubbing. more clubbing pictures soon, my camera is not with for at this moment.

* super moon that doesn’t look super at our side of the world.

* ponytail island (:

* not an island, but a place for people to grab a glass of beer and just chill under the Yarra river bridge.

* my latte and his beer.

* happy ben, he likes this place.

* yours truly. quite windy as you can tell.

there’s a whole lot more of pictures but i’ll call it a day for now.
will update again very soon (:
hope you have a great weekend.

home sweet home ♥

of course, no place is better than the home i have in malaysia.
i wonder how it looks like now, how’s all the renovation going.

but for the mean time, this is the home i’m staying at melbourne.
which is friggin expensive i must say. i don’t get how people stay here in the city, the rent is like c-r-a-z-y.
four hundred per week, sampat!!

but they do have gym, swimming pool, sauna, and a very nice place for you to barbecue along with equipments.
so if you’re a gym person, maybe it sounds more bearable since you get to save up money by not signing up for gym outside.
still crazy no matter what.

* i actually really kind of like candles a lot.

* the third creature who stays in the house.

* the cosy corner. might need to shift the sofa cause we’re planning to get a ‘tv’. probably the only thing that’s missing from the house, a television.

* his workplace and also a temporary ‘tv’ to watch his stupid stephen chow movie and my awesome gossip girl.

* our small and simple dining table with (yes) pink chairs. my idea, of course. it can brighten up the house okay!! and a balcony door behind.

* a divider/bookshelf/a place to keep our shoes and yada yada. that’s our kitchen (my territory) behind, of course.

* entrance door, hello. and some berry berry important stuff which is all ze sauces and spices and whatnot. damn nice compartment can, so easy to take these sauces while i cook. (:

* neat and nice toilet, with our hand towels hanging. (: will be perfect if it’s a bathtub.

* and this is the bedroom, with nothing in it except the bed. i would love to have a side table with erm, a lamp. and that’s a built-in wardrobe with huge ass mirror. please ignore the jackets on the floor, too tired after clubbing to put them nicely. :X

how’s ze house?
a one bedroom apartment.
it’s small, sometimes i miss walking around a bigger home.
like how i can walk from my room to living room to kitchen then to my mom’s room, to my maid’s room back to my room in malaysia wtf.
here i can only walk in and out of the room, in and out in and out.
wanna play hide and seek also cannot larh.
but this home is pretty cosy. (:

if only i can put a green fake plant in the bathroom, it’ll be great.
fake plant can last forever and ever, damn worth it haha.
that’s all for now, i’m pretty sleepy already. plus i might need to stay up for football match, i better get some rest before i regret typing too much here.
have a good midweek people. (:

In time for Moomba

So, if you asked me how’s Melbourne treating me so far, I can say that this place is really pretty good.
But not any better than my beloved Kuala Lumpur :P
I’m not quite use to the weather here, it’s pretty inconsistent.

It feels hot and stuffy during noon and it gets soooooo cold at night, I shiver and sneeze. Like right away once the wind tries to blew me off. The cold wind is insane and it’s not even winter yet. Goshes.

* Reached Melbourne on time to go for Moomba Festival :*)

* Hie there, I looked pretty bloated that day.

* This funfair is HUGE with lotsa games and it’s really fun. Cant compare with all the mini funfairs back at home.

* My kermit frog Ben won for me. There’s this really large kermit I wish to bring home but it’s too large, no point winning it. Cant bring it into the plane with me ): but this small one is good enough (:

* good times <3

* look at the ride, it’s quite insane really. Ben played, while I just wait for him to be done. I dare not.

Still feeling really really lazy, there’s no places I wanna go and I don’t even wanna eat out.
All I wanna do is to go for grocery shopping, come home and cook.
Haha, no idea since when I’ve become an auntie. Damn lazy can, I just wanna snuggle under blanket.

More to blog but again, L A Z Y.
I wanna learn how to cook now from Youtube, so tadaa.
:*)

One day at Malacca.

Call me slowpoke, it’s been almost a month since Ben left and now only I got around to post our Malacca one day trip.
Yes, I’m that lazy when it comes to editing pictures from trips.

The last time we went to Port Dickson, he wanted to let me try his hometown’s famous beef noodle but we were too late by the time we arrived.
So this time round, we tried our luck again.

* Famous beef noodle at Pasar Besar Seremban, can pretty much smell the aroma when I walked pass.

* So much more different from the beef noodle at KL. Both have their own distinguish flavour and I enjoyed eating both. What’s special about Seremban’s beef noodle is that they add peanut and sesame into it and their sauce is thick and special. The beef and the sauce just blends so well together. And the noodle we ordered is Seremban’s ‘lou shu fun’ which is also different from those we see at KL. Seremban’s ‘lou shu fun’ looks more like asam laksa’s noodle.
All in all, the combination is just great and it’s really tasty. I am so gonna eat this again. :9

We both shared a bowl for fear that our tummy will not be spacious enough for other Malacca’s food if we ordered a bowl for each of us.
And as usual, our first stop is Hoe Kee’s chicken rice.

*dayumnn, i’m missing all the foods!!

* fooled around at jonker street.

* i bought this boxing thingy, works quite well when i have a back pain.

* stopped by for eggy ice-cream.

* Rm3 sour plum flavour *refreshing* (I think the ice-cream on Ben’s tshirt is more interesting.)

We both wanted to go to Baba Nyonya museum so badly but I guess we wasted too much time at Jonker Walk, by the time we reached they’re already close. I was so sad, I wanted to go so so badly. ):

* Plan B, Cheng Ho’s museum which is pretty interesting. Didn’t know that he’s that powerful back then.

* And this museum is a lot larger than I thought, it feels like a maze inside.

After getting to know the great Cheng Ho we went to Stadhuys for a walk.

* Haha, my cute Romeo ♥ (:

Decided to look for my brother for dinner afterwards and we had a little argument before that. Ben wanted to take trishaw back to our car because we parked pretty far but I insisted that we should walk back because it’s expensive. What a stupid argument that almost ruined our day. Pfft, I cant help being stingy.

Fetched my brother and he suggested this beef bak kut teh.

* Actually it’s not a beef bak kut teh, just that they sell bak kut teh and beef in claypot but people called it beef bak kut teh. It’s pretty good, especially if you eat it in cold weather. But I doubt if Malacca will ever be cold.

Last stop is at Nadeje for their Mille Crepe which I’ve already blogged about.

* A very comfortable place.

* It’s insane we’re already so full yet we ordered Mille Crepe and my brother ordered Salad. Pricing is really reasonable for their ambiance and food which taste pretty good.
Accidentally saved my picture as low quality, hence this really low quality picture.

* And lastly some pictures from Ben’s iphone.

We’re running out of time because Ben’s leaving or else we’re gonna stay a night there. Too bad. ):
I wanna go to Melaka Wonderland so badly!! It’s like A’Famosa or Sunway Lagoon but much cheaper and lotsa slides!!

* Just look at the slides!! ohmaigawd!! I don’t care if it’s lousier than the both mentioned above cause I’m bored of them. And this is cheap!
Rm26 on weekdays and Rm30 on weekends.

I’m so gonna go!
