Cumulus Inc

“CUMULUS INC. eating house and bar opened in 2008 in Melbourne’s famous art and fashion precinct, Flinders Lane.”
So from what I’ve found out Cumulus Inc is run by chef Andrew McConnell and architect partner Pascale Gomes-McNabb, creating a unique eating experience by serving excellent food and of course, a great interior design to go along with the food.

And in a few years time you’ll see bloggers blogging about this ‘XXX restaurant’ run by chef Peggy Chow and architect partner Ben Tay, creating an awesome pawsome eating experience.
What!? Still not too old for me to dream right, pfft! Dream has no boundaries okay. okay. okay!?

Back to Cumulus Inc, by far this is one of my favorite restaurant in Melbourne.
Food taste absolutely delicious and it just doesn’t taste delicious, as said it does taste unique in a way.
Something different. Nothing complicated, the taste is simple yet different.
I don’t even know how to put it into words, I just love it.

* Cumulus Inc , everything is great. I guess I must have been busy eating hence there isn’t any pictures of the interior but do visit their website if you’re interested. (:

* The bread itself looks so good and soft.

* Two different types of oyster but I cant remember what is what now. Each cost around $4.

* Soft shell mud crab, this taste absolutely delicious! $20

* Scallops, boyf’s favorite. As long as there’s scallop on the menu, he’ll order it. Cant seem to get the price from their website.

* I cannot remember what fish is this, too long ago ):

* The lady who served us asked if we’d like to have salad as well, we both don’t feel like it but ordered anyway. I don’t know why. When our salad came I told the boyf we shouldn’t have ordered this but I was very wrong. This is no ordinary salad, the sauce taste so different and good. I’m actually not a salad person and they can make salad taste this good.

* Selection of Petit Fours $8, dessert was a little disappointing though but I believe they do have better desserts.

Cumulus Inc do serve breakfast too, have yet to try but I’m anticipating.
One more thing I like about Cumulus Inc is that they have open kitchen and I can sit right at the bar seeing all those young handsome chefs cooking right in front of me.
Really really like seeing chef preparing my food in front of me.

I’d definitely go back if I have the chance to step foot in Melbourne again.
Oh and the bill came up to about $100+, pretty affordable if we count dollar to dollar.
I’m pretty sure I cant get food with such quality with Rm100+ here in Malaysia.

But then again, I hope I’m wrong.
Gonna try out this restaurant that I’ve been dying to try since last year.
I hope it wont fail me since I’ve read plenty of good reviews on the web.
Cant wait (;

3 Months In Melbourne

1) I didn’t come across any mosquito, not even one. I nearly forget the existence of mosquito but soon enough I’m going back to hell cause there’s tons and tons of it in my home.

2) No lizard!! Not one either and this could possibly be one of the best thing for me. Again, going back to hell cause there’s too tons of it at home. fml

3) I feel really really safe being here in Melbourne, I’m not afraid when I walk down the street during 4 in the morning and I absolutely love the feeling. No matter how, Malaysia can never never give me this feeling, I’ll only feel paranoid. ):

4) Good public transport if were to compare to home. From my house to KLCC by car will prolly take me 20 minutes without jam but if I were to use the public transport I have to take a bus to Taman Maluri Jusco then change to LRT to Masjid Jamek and THEN change again only to reach KLCC. And sometimes you just have to wait effing long for the bus PFFT. On normal days I only wait for trams for like 3 to 5 minutes and they even tell you how long you have to wait unlike Malaysia. PFFFFFT!

5) There’s traffic lights everywhere and there’s really nothing to worry about when we cross the roads. Back home, it might cost you your life wtf.

6) Good cafes. Very good cafes with beautiful decorations and not to forget food that taste heaven as well. And by cafes I don’t mean Asian food.

7) No stray dogs. I only get to see all the cute dogs (:

8) Some really creative advertisement and of course, you get to see pretty models wearing panties on TV commercial. I was pretty shock when I first saw it because you know if you get to see that on Malaysia’s TV, everyone in Malaysia is gonna be a billionaire wtf.

9) Sushi roll!!! Yes I love sushi roll!

10) Chai latte, not sure if there’s any in Malaysia. If yes, where?

11) But I hate the fact that their shops closes at 5 in the evening. *boring*

12) and it’s really expensive to eat out

13) and they don’t have nice shisha place here

14) and their roti canai cost $5!!! I can eat like 15 pieces in KL.

15) and not much yam cha place during the night.

16) and a movie ticket cost me $20!!

17) and 2 hours of public transport cost me $3.80!! (sorry i’m really kiamsiap wtf)

18) and everything here just seems ridiculously expensive to me ):

19) and it’s MAD COLD!!!

yah that’s about it for the time being. I’m going back real sooooooon. Less than 24 hours!!!!!!!!!1 ):

Hi Giraffe

Gosh, I feel so lazy to blog!!
But my boyf forced me to, which I don’t know.

Ben: Faster go blog.
Me: Tomorrow lah, I’m very lazy.
Ben: Blog now lah. You’re a professional blogger, later no more follower.
Me: -________-”’

Since when am I a professional blogger whatthehell!
I’m a professional housewife LOL!
I always need some oomph to blog, I cant just blog like that.

Anyway, we had lunch at this really nice cafe with a cute name called Giraffe Cafe.
And the food taste pretty good too.

* feels like home, a cosy home which is really different from FullHouse cafe kind of home. Those are boring.

* I like how they put a tree trunk inside the cafe, from floor to ceiling. I would love to have a huge ass tree trunk in my house, not the house I’m staying of course. Some dodgy looking house.

* Their coffee taste awesome with ice-cream in it. Normally I drink hot coffee here but this ice coffee taste a little like what I drink back in Malaysia. Of course, not the crappy kind of coffee.

* Chicken Risotto. Actually this is the first risotto in my life, never cross my mind to try one out before. Remember the first time I saw a plate of risotto was when Aaron ordered it and I was thinking, why does his meal looks so much like a vomit wtf. I don’t know why risotto do not look appealing to me, but boy it taste heavenly.

* A-nothing-to-rave-about-bread-pudding.

* Candid.

I find out that cafes here in Melbourne, even if you randomly picked one they wont really fail you.
Unlike the ones in KL, I really dare not randomly walk into a cafe.
Man, I’ve tried some and the food just taste so bad. Service is bad, food is bad, everything is bad.
There aren’t much good cafes in KL, or more like in Cheras.

This Giraffe Cafe, they do not really have a kitchen.
It’s just a small open kitchen right in front of the entrance door.
And there’s just two lady working that day, so they have to basically do everything from cleaning up to ordering to cooking.
It kind of makes me feel, hey maybe it’s not THAT hard.
But of course, there aren’t much choices to pick from the menu.

I wanna have a cafe of my own too, can I? *puppy eyes*

Just Us

PFFT!! I wonder how long it’ll take for the internet to be here.
I want wifi so that I can whatsapp and everything else. I cant even watch youtube videos now, torturing. ):
Anyway, here’s some lousy picture updates.

The broadband isn’t working when it’s plug into my laptop resulting in me losing my patience and the mood to blog.
Just a few pictures of us and nothing else.

* a fun mirror right outside a pancake shop, pancake parlour.

* short and chubby.

* this is…

* just us…

* doing what we…

* use to do…

* back in malaysia.

abusing his iphone app,bwahha.

it’s mid april already!! time is passing real fast this month.
it’s hitting me again, i know there’s still such along way to go before i go back but it feels the opposite for me.
sometimes i feel like i’m starting to lose myself again when there’s disagreement.
i’m not quite the person i am 3 months back.
might be just a phase.

gahh, i don’t even know what i’m saying here.
i’m gonna go make teh tarik now.
bye.

A month seems short yet long enough.

I’ve been away from home for almost a month now.
If you ask me have I been adapting well, my answer will be yes. Pretty good.
If you ask me is this easy, my answer will be ‘not so easy after all’.
Of course, not the holidaying, enjoying, and the waking up during noon part. That part is of course, very very easy.

All my life I’ve been staying under the same roof with my family and only my family. By family I mean my mom and my brother. And dad which is half of my life.
I’ve never stayed with uncle or grandma or anyone else for that matter.
It’s like all my life I stay with my mom and brother, I’m extremely comfortable and too used to their way of living and habits and all.

And then I’ve to move away from my very own comfort zone, home and country to a place I’m not at all familiar with.
I’m living under the same roof with this someone whom I’ve known for barely half a year.
Sounds silly?
We kind of click at the very very beginning of the relationship (and by that I don’t mean we don’t click now), the spark and all but truth to be told we barely know each other.
Is it easy to live with a person whom you’re not close with (if were to compare it with family)?

Different human being, different habit, different up bringing, basically everything different.
I love watching gossip girl while he love watching his stephen chow.
He prefers eating out while I prefer eating in.
Sometimes I’m more messy than he is.
He keeps playing his stupid fifa while me, cant stand the dirt will vacuum the house and what not.
I find it cold when he finds it hot.
You know, it’s just this and that.

It’s not easy living with a person whom you’ve not live with all your life.
And you just can never help it, there will definitely be arguments.
Arguing about some stupid shits around the house, how he hates it when I’m like this or vice versa.
But is it REALLY that hard? Nope.
Maybe it’s just the first month or maybe not, I’m not sure.
The key is of course, to compromise.
Do I compromise a lot? I cant tell, I’m not sure of myself.
It could be that I thought I compromise a lot when in fact I didn’t, or the other way round.
Did he compromise, yes he did.
He sometimes really make things hard for me but also because of how he compromise, it make things easier.

I don’t know, I just hope it wont get harder than this. For now, it’s good.
Good enough for me, but for him I’m not too sure.
Anyway, I think it’s time for me to post some pictures that have been pending for so long.
Here goes..

* one sunny day. (damn long ago, my first week here)

* australia’s tram.

* they have tons of people performing by the street, all sorts of performance. i like this one (:

* some mango ice-cream dessert thingy at passion flower. looks so nice and inviting but taste like crap. *puik*

* boys love this, that too taste like crap to me.

* blur ass picture from clubbing. more clubbing pictures soon, my camera is not with for at this moment.

* super moon that doesn’t look super at our side of the world.

* ponytail island (:

* not an island, but a place for people to grab a glass of beer and just chill under the Yarra river bridge.

* my latte and his beer.

* happy ben, he likes this place.

* yours truly. quite windy as you can tell.

there’s a whole lot more of pictures but i’ll call it a day for now.
will update again very soon (:
hope you have a great weekend.

home sweet home ♥

of course, no place is better than the home i have in malaysia.
i wonder how it looks like now, how’s all the renovation going.

but for the mean time, this is the home i’m staying at melbourne.
which is friggin expensive i must say. i don’t get how people stay here in the city, the rent is like c-r-a-z-y.
four hundred per week, sampat!!

but they do have gym, swimming pool, sauna, and a very nice place for you to barbecue along with equipments.
so if you’re a gym person, maybe it sounds more bearable since you get to save up money by not signing up for gym outside.
still crazy no matter what.

* i actually really kind of like candles a lot.

* the third creature who stays in the house.

* the cosy corner. might need to shift the sofa cause we’re planning to get a ‘tv’. probably the only thing that’s missing from the house, a television.

* his workplace and also a temporary ‘tv’ to watch his stupid stephen chow movie and my awesome gossip girl.

* our small and simple dining table with (yes) pink chairs. my idea, of course. it can brighten up the house okay!! and a balcony door behind.

* a divider/bookshelf/a place to keep our shoes and yada yada. that’s our kitchen (my territory) behind, of course.

* entrance door, hello. and some berry berry important stuff which is all ze sauces and spices and whatnot. damn nice compartment can, so easy to take these sauces while i cook. (:

* neat and nice toilet, with our hand towels hanging. (: will be perfect if it’s a bathtub.

* and this is the bedroom, with nothing in it except the bed. i would love to have a side table with erm, a lamp. and that’s a built-in wardrobe with huge ass mirror. please ignore the jackets on the floor, too tired after clubbing to put them nicely. :X

how’s ze house?
a one bedroom apartment.
it’s small, sometimes i miss walking around a bigger home.
like how i can walk from my room to living room to kitchen then to my mom’s room, to my maid’s room back to my room in malaysia wtf.
here i can only walk in and out of the room, in and out in and out.
wanna play hide and seek also cannot larh.
but this home is pretty cosy. (:

if only i can put a green fake plant in the bathroom, it’ll be great.
fake plant can last forever and ever, damn worth it haha.
that’s all for now, i’m pretty sleepy already. plus i might need to stay up for football match, i better get some rest before i regret typing too much here.
have a good midweek people. (:

i is can cook too.

I wonder how long it’ll take to finally have internet in the house again.
It’s taking ages and it makes it so hard for me to blog ):

Plus I just transfered some pictures into the computer, it’s such a mess now.
Meanwhile, I’ll just bombard my post with some of my cookings (:

* tried to make ‘bak zam gai’ like how my mom cook it at home. was suppose to buy drumsticks only but I figured that it’ll be more worth it if I buy a whole chicken and that whole chicken almost killed me wtf. I thought they’ll clean all the intestine and everything else for me. I’m never buying a whole chicken again, damn hard to chop some more damnit.

* ben’s the chef, his chicken ala king. too much potato and not creamy enough :X

* mushroom minute steak. he claimed that his is too raw and for me, mine isn’t raw enough but other than that it taste pretty good too.

* why the face like that?

* tell me this looks good!! japanese pasta, ben said it taste a little like pasta zanmai. i is happy :D and it’s really easy to make.

* our dinner for tonight.

* black pepper beef

* green curry chicken, a little too spicy. other than that it’s pretty good.

i’m happy every time he tells me my cooking taste good.
i didn’t know i can actually cook cause as i remember my cooking taste like shit.
oklah not shitty but it doesn’t taste as good.
i love youtube, i learned almost everything from youtube itself.
my saviour, bwahaha.

cant wait to show mom i cooked all these, she wouldn’t believe it.
she must have miss me, she called last night but i was sleeping. ):
must talk to her tonight.

cooking is so fun omg omg omg!
ben asked why your life in melbourne only about cooking. haha

Mar 16

2nd and 3rd at Melbourne.

I find the need to force myself to blog or else all the pictures will pile up and I’ll get even more lazier.
Good news, Ben found a new place to stay like finally. It’ll be so much easier because I can unpack my clothes and whatnot so that it wont be so messy.
And also it’s easier for me to cook :D

*forced to take picture with my kermit, stuffed into his pocket.

*that thingy behind Ben, it’s some obstacle game where we go in and pass through all the obstacle. I don’t know how to explain but it’s fun AND expensive. 5 dollar per person that’s like what, Rm15!!!

Almost everything in Melbourne is expensive. You know those white bread like Gardenia, the longer ones they sell it for like 3 dollar plus here and that’s like…. almost Rm10.
I almost fainted. Like whatthehell, it’s just white bread man.
And each meal cost like 10 dollar per person, I rather cook.
Ben’s like, let’s go eat this, let’s go eat that and I’m like… er, don’t want larh so expensive. don’t want don’t want don’t want.

* Melbourne is interesting.

* and windy.

The first meal I cooked is prawn wanton, recipe from my aunt.

*It’ll be much better if the wanton skin isn’t that thick. And the mee we bought sucks, should just have wanton alone.

* garlic cheese baguette for breakfast and tomato egg drop soup, choy sam, and garlic shrimp for dinner.

How’s my cooking!? Looks good enough? haha.
I’m kind of addicted to cooking because it’s cheap and also it gives that bit of satisfaction when my food is edible.
Maybe it’s just the first few days, let’s see if I’ll get bored of it haha.

Ben forced me to go supper with him.

* at Stalactites, Lonsdale Street.

* he said it’s greek food and yes it taste bombastic, chicken and lamb with pita bread and different kind of sauce.

But I was about to die when he paid the bill, 40 dollar wtf!
This stupid (okay, it’s not stupid but still….) supper cost Rm120!!
I can eat like ten meals in Malaysia my goodness sake. It’s crazy.
I just cant help but said to him, please don’t bring me out for food. Please don’t eat out. We can cook, zzzzz.
I don’t care if he’s gonna pay or whatsoever, it is still very EXPENSIVE!

Home cook food sometimes cost only 5dollar for the both of us. See the difference.
We’re gonna eat out tomorrow for dinner because it’s our 3rd month together, no choice because he wants to.
Nothing more than 70 dollar for the both of us, that’s what I told him.
I said 50 at first but he said it’s hard to do. pfft ):

But I bought two cheap stuff today.
Bought a red pretty pumps for 10 dollar and a home slipper from cotton on for 2 dollar.
Bwahahahahaha! Loving my red pumps larhhhh! (:
