Say Goodbye

Ilford XP2 disposable, ISO400.

Hi blog, I’ve missed you this personal space of mine!
2016 has finally came to an end and I’d like to wish you a very happy new year and really, hello again now that you’re here reading my old dusty rusty blog.
No one is expecting this year end post, not even myself but here I am.
Perhaps it is time to revive this space.
When you’ve taken a long enough break from something that used to be a routine, things may very well move to a new direction.

When I moved to Melbourne I felt like I was too caught up with life, too tired and lazy from making ends meet. All those house work and work load drained me.
So I just gradually stopped posting here and updated my dayre a whole lot more instead but that too eventually stopped.
I felt like I no longer have happy thoughts to pen down and share so I just stopped altogether.
Even though I stopped updating my social medias with thoughts and feelings but I am a person who cant stop penning down thoughts especially when my heart is too heavy and weary.
So I continued typing but I did it on my phone’s ‘Notes’ and those posts never see the light of day.

In the middle of last year Fatty and I broke up. I can’t even recall calling him Fatty until I took a quick glance at my previous posts and I honestly do not have the courage to go through my blog for now.
I really did suffer immense heartbreak but I must say I’ve been coping rather well with the agreement from my close friends of course.

I’ve changed.
Was it a dramatic break up? Yeah, probably a little bit.
Did I go crazy? Yeah, probably a little bit too.
Did I handle it differently this time? Yeah I did.

I would’ve been so drama about it all over Facebook or any social media for that matter but I just choose to focus on healing myself.
Maybe I really am too old for this, I do not have the will in me to expose people like how I used to.
Honestly though, there’s no need to.

Right from the beginning I never quite understood why but half a year has gone by and at the very end I had an epiphany, finally seeing the bigger picture. Or to put it in better words I’ve always been fighting with myself and a huge part of me knew that it’s a losing battle that I am in but I choose to believe otherwise. I’m a born fighter so I don’t really surrender and give up until someone stab me in my heart, literally.
I will only admit defeat at the very end and right now I’ve reached the end.

Today if you ask me I really didn’t know how I managed to survive the first couple of months.
Half the time I was in a very numb state and another half most likely crying my eyes out haha.
I moved around quite a bit because I didn’t know how to face the whole situation. I didn’t know how to continue living together and face him while my heart was broken into pieces so I just sort of moved between houses.
I was really quite devastated if I must say, it did affect my work, my sleep and my health.

It took me some while to come to terms with what happened and it took a lot of self convincing to be stronger than ever.
I just kept reminding myself that I survived my dad’s passing so honestly what’s the big deal here?
Really, that’s how I got through it and of course with the help of my supportive friends.
I know how ranting about relationships can be so annoying so I am thankful that these friends of mine are willing to deal with what I was experiencing.
One of the hardest part about this break up was breaking the news to my mom and it took me a while to actually come clean.
I knew that saying ‘we broke up’ to my mom will break me inside so I was just trying to hold this piece of news for as long as I could but then again telling her what happened was one of the best decision made.
Honestly speaking I never talk to my mom about my relationship issues and this was the first time ever she saw me cry over a guy. I normally do it behind closed doors, the crying.
The thought of her being sad seeing me cry, showing her my weakness actually makes me even more devastated.
I hate it when my family member is sad, I can’t deal with it because I feel everything very intensely.
Last thing that I wanted was for my mom to be upset seeing me cry because I just couldn’t stop crying.
Despite everything, my relationship with my mom has been drastically improved ever since and now I love hanging out with her haha.

I am very aware of the whole situation truth be told, that in the midst of loving someone I lost myself.
Why do I never put myself above my partner, this I never seem to understand.
I guess I wanted love too much resulted from the lack of love from a father.
But how can you learn if you don’t fall and fail right?
I really grew yet again, stronger and wiser from this ordeal.
No one (including myself) can believe that someone like me can ACTUALLY stay away from drama haha but I did it anyway.
Sometimes I really want to give myself a pat on the shoulder because really, Peggy is not drama free. HAHA!

Through this inevitable break up my vision and mind has been opened and I kinda love it.
I still feel sad but I am no longer in pain. Honestly though sad is unavoidable because I love hard.
I don’t jump from one guy to another nor will I like someone in the midst of dating a person because I don’t know how.
It’s not even like I didn’t want to, I just don’t know how.

Someone once asked me, why would you try so hard to drag a person who is not willing to go to the top of the mountain with you along? Why don’t you climb up to the top of the mountain and meet someone who is already there, who is already at the destination you want to be at. I was just like woah……………… point taken thank you very much.

I’ve been so tired and worn out from trying so I made a decision that I do not want to live that way ever again.
I don’t want to fight for a battle not worth fighting because frankly speaking there is no point choking on a love gone wrong.
As cliche as this may sound, when the right one comes I know I will thank God more than ever for being so kind to me.
Like I said a lot of times in this relationship I knew it was wrong but I didn’t wanna give up without fighting even if it means getting bruises all over me. At the very least I know I have done my best and regret will not come from my side anymore.

Half a year is a very good time to see what I needed to see, to find out what I needed to know, to understand my own needs, to move on and lastly to let go.
If I say I don’t feel sad anymore its a lie, I always get overly attached so I probably need a long long time to let go of what we had for more than five years but do I still want to hang on to it, the answer is no.

/I never understand why people who love each other cant be together or a person will say no when he/she still obviously have feelings but right this point, I finally understand. Feeling is not everything because in this world, if you don’t be a realist you’re kinda fucked. Least that’s how I see it, alas feelings really ain’t everything.

For those who are going through a bad break up, stay strong because imagine when the right one comes, everything will make sense. If you can love the wrong one so dearly, what about the right one? ;)
And for now, no love is as important as self love.
Also I don’t want to pinpoint on who is right or wrong because sometimes love is just love.

Anyway I just read this so thought that I’d share it here.
So it is said that we only fall in love with 3 people in our lifetime.

Often our first is when we are young, in high school even. It’s the idealistic love—the one that seems like the fairytales we read as children.

This is the love that appeals to what we should be doing for society’s sake—and probably our families. We enter into it with the belief that this will be our only love and it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t feel quite right, or if we find ourselves having to swallow down our personal truths to make it work because deep down we believe that this is what love is supposed to be.

Because in this type of love, how others view us is more important than how we actually feel.

It’s a love that looks right.

The second is supposed to be our hard love—the one that teaches us lessons about who we are and how we often want or need to be loved. This is the kind of love that hurts, whether through lies, pain or manipulation.

We think we are making different choices than our first, but in reality we are still making choices out of the need to learn lessons—but we hang on. Our second love can become a cycle, oftentimes one we keep repeating because we think that somehow the ending will be different than before. Yet, each time we try, it somehow ends worse than before.

Sometimes it’s unhealthy, unbalanced or narcissistic even. There may be emotional, mental or even physical abuse or manipulation—most likely there will be high levels of drama. This is exactly what keeps us addicted to this storyline, because it’s the emotional rollercoaster of extreme highs and lows and like a junkie trying to get a fix, we stick through the lows with the expectation of the high.

With this kind of love, trying to make it work becomes more important than whether it actually should.

It’s the love that we wished was right.

And the third is the love we never see coming. The one that usually looks all wrong for us and that destroys any lingering ideals we clung to about what love is supposed to be. This is the love that comes so easy it doesn’t seem possible. It’s the kind where the connection can’t be explained and knocks us off our feet because we never planned for it.

This is the love where we come together with someone and it just fits—there aren’t any ideal expectations about how each person should be acting, nor is there pressure to become someone other than we are.

We are just simply accepted for who we are already—and it shakes to our core.

It isn’t what we envisioned our love would look like, nor does it abide by the rules that we had hoped to play it safe by. But still it shatters our preconceived notions and shows us that love doesn’t have to be how we thought in order to be true.

This is the love that keeps knocking on our door regardless of how long it takes us to answer.

It’s the love that just feels right.

Good lord, the first and second love cant be any truer.
Now I just sit and wait for my third and last love, can?
I give you my address you come and knock on my door, haha!

P/S: I may really start updating more on this space from now on.

The happiest day of my life!

Am I neglecting my blog or what? I’ve been dayre-ing every other day, it just seems so much easier than really sitting in front of my laptop and blogging away. Sorry for being lazy, fucking lazy I mean. Here’s a piece to share my happiness and what I’ve been doing for the pass one year. I dayre-d everything then copy and paste it here to make things easier. I also just dayre-d about #mymostvolatilerelationship created by Timothy Tiah, you can read if you’re interested. (dayre.me/peggychow)

I’ve been dreaming of writing this post. Every now and then I imagined myself typing this, imagined myself phrasing words and sentences.

“I finally got my Australia visa!!!!”

Of Friends and Barbecue

It was one of the best day I spent with friends after a very long time!
All of us wanted a getaway but couldn’t seem to secure a place and date (up till today), so we settled for a mini get together at Verve Suites.

#1 Ee, Yan, and I had our brunch at Publika’s Redbeanbag before shopping for remaining groceries at Ben’s grocer.

We then went off to KL Sentral to pick our stewardess Foon back to Verve and started preparing whatever that was needed to for our barbecue at night.

#2 Then it was time to relax…

First quarter of 2014.

A lot has happened this March.
Never in a million years have I thought that I will experience this so soon but yet I did.
In fact, it isn’t just March.
Not sure for you but my 2014 hasn’t been smooth thus far.

I started off the year with a lot of arguments. There were too many dissatisfaction which lead to quarreling every alternate days.
I was back to my old emotional self for awhile and that hurts a lot.

Just when the arguments started wearing off and I was back to my old happy self, really looking forward to my Japan trip I read a bad piece of news.
Our very own MAS airplane went missing while on the way to Beijing, few days before I flew off to Osaka.
I was affected by the news because I was afraid (I’ve always been afraid of boarding a plane that will crash).
Not only was I affected because I was afraid of boarding a plane so soon but I was also very afraid and concern over my brother’s safety.
He’s a pilot and I don’t want to imagine losing a family member this close to me after my father’s death.
Not sure how my mom feels but every single time my brother step out of the house for work, I feel scared.
And every time I see him coming home in one piece, I feel relieved.
I also have friends who work as a pilot and stewardess, so it does really affect me in a way.

I was constantly updating myself by reading the news while I was at Japan but because I was travelling, I wasn’t that focus.
The travelling did lighten my heart a little bit during that few days.
Then I came home on Friday, got myself a complimentary ticket to FMFA which was great at first.

I partied, had fun, went back to Fatty’s place, slept, and woke up with the worst news after 14 years.
A very very good friend of mine passed away at that exact same place, it was too hard to digest.
In fact he passed me by at the rave and I kept thinking to myself if I have followed him that night, he might still be here.
If I had done a little bit more, just a little bit more by following him. But I did not and he’s a very close friend of mine, so this feeling inside of me really…… I don’t even know how to describe.

It was such a hard time for all of us, all of his close friends and family.
I find it hard to face his mother because occasionally I’ll end up at his house and then bump into his mother and talk a little.
I also find it very hard for me to see how upset and heartbroken my boyfriend was. I just cant do anything to make him feel better.
Then there were a whole lot of close friends who were heartbroken at the same time too.
The pain from seeing my love one being heartbroken, the pain from seeing all my close friends being heartbroken, and the pain from in within feeling really heartbroken.
It was too much to handle and up till this day I still feel like it was a really really bad dream sometimes.

After trying to get it together for a week, I received another news from my bestfriend that her dad passed away.
I was lost for words.
Another week passed by and now, our prime minister announced that our very own MH370 ended up in Indian Ocean.
That’s a whole fucking lot of lives we’re talking about. I was really saddened by what he announced because deep down I wished that the plane was just lost. Lost not perished.

Actually I still have this hope in me somehow that this was just a mistake. Who knows, we’re all capable of making mistakes even our very own prime minister.
What I prayed for during my Bangkok trip and Chinese New Year didn’t come true at all.
I wish for health and safety of my family and friends but that didn’t happen. I wish for happiness for all of them and that didn’t happen.
Was I not sincere enough?

One piece of long ass heart broken post and I’ll update on my Japan trip next.
I want nothing but the remaining of the year to be free from sadness, that’s all.

20131230-211911.jpg

Not sure how he likes it but I like it quite a lot. Still lots of room for improvement when it comes to party planning. Also bought him my first branded, a Prada wallet. That’s how much I love him considering how empty my bank account is.

20131230-215217.jpg
13. Road trip to Melaka with bffs and bf. Stayed a night at 45 Lekiu and I mad love that place.

20131230-215211.jpg

32. James wedding dinner at Miri which is also a very good bonding session with the homies. Short but sweet.

33. Most likely will end up at Gardens Hotel booked by Billy for New Year’s Eve.

This time last year, I kind of promised myself to not go on a holiday because I intended to save money to go over to Melbourne but Melbourne didn’t happen and what happened was even more holidays.
I also ticked off a few from my bucket list which makes me super glad because I’m finally getting/achieving whatever that I wanted.

Travel to Bali.
Travel to Hong Kong.
See dolphins jump up from the sea.
Take up cooking class.
(Half tick cause I want a cooking class that’ll last me for months.)
Get myself an Iphone 5/ the latest Iphone.
Get myself a new camera to replace my dead Sony.
Get myself braces.
Create a joint account with the person I love.

2013 has been a really great year cause I gained a lot.
It was also a new milestone for us because we hit the third year, which means I am the most tolerable girlfriend among his girlfriends by date wtf haha.

Everything’s gonna change by next mid year be it for good or bad but I hope things are gonna go my way.
Now bring it on 2014!

What to do / Where to go? (2)

So here’s a few more places / activities which you can add in to your where to go or what to do list.

1. Aquria KLCC

‘Aquaria KLCC is a state-of-the-art oceanarium showcasing over 5000 different exhibits of aquatic and land-bound creatures.’
I assumed most of us have heard of KLCC’s Aquaria but how many of us have really been there before?
We tend to visit other country’s Aquria but not our own or was it my wrong perception?
Perhaps it’s just me but this is my first time to our very own Aquaria KLCC.

Entrance fee in my opinion is not cheap even for Mykad holders, pricing at Rm38 for adult and Rm28 for senior citizens or children.
Upon entrance I was greeted by a bunch of piranhas but I missed out their feeding time which is at 4pm.
Be sure to go before their feeding time to avoid disappointment.

20131020-132425.jpg
#1 Corals and bamboo sharks.

20131020-132441.jpg
#2 We were allow to touch them and I touched a starfish which took me a lot of courage. I really don’t like touching sea creatures, that’s one of my phobia. Which is also why I always say no to diving lessons. Let’s just say I am really afraid of the sea, the creatures, and the unfamiliarity.

20131020-132351.jpg
#3 Land-bound creature that I hate the most. The lizards.

20131020-132337.jpg
#4 Frog seems more bearable.

20131020-132254.jpg
#5 Don’t like snake either.

20131020-132309.jpg
#6 Scorpion, eight legs, a pair of grasping claws and venomous stinger.

20131020-132402.jpg
#7 Really cute river rodent.

20131020-132138.jpg
#8 One funny looking fish that caught my attention.

20131020-132129.jpg
#9 What kind of face is this? Haha!

20131020-131739.jpg
#10 I went to Aquria with Dexter and not Fatty because he was working and cant be bothered about some stupid Aquria (lol).

20131020-132049.jpg
#11 The best part was of course the sharks because we’re all afraid of them. Feeding time for sharks is at 3pm which I missed too!

20131020-132150.jpg
#13

20131020-132105.jpg
#14 Spider crab that kept moving like it’s dancing, it’s funny.

20131020-131910.jpg
#15 Jellyfishes!

20131020-131918.jpg
#16

20131020-131929.jpg
#17

20131020-132026.jpg
#18 Moon jellyfishes which we can have them as pet! Someday, someday.

20131020-131730.jpg
#19 Ten years of friendship.

It was quite fun looking at creatures we don’t normally get to come upon and oohing/aahing over it.
Going to Aquria will be a lot more entertaining if we could catch their feeding time but all in all it was quite a fun thing to do. If you’re up for more excitement you can sign up for their ‘cage rage’ or ‘dive with sharks’ and dive underwater, coming close to sharks and other fascinating creatures.

You can even sign up for a diving proposal package and propose to the girl you love surrounded by fishes.
Not for the faint-hearted.

2. Galeri Petronas @ KLCC

Here’s something more from KLCC if Aquria alone is not enough to fill up your day.
There’s no entrance fees, all the more better.

GALERI PETRONAS represents one of PETRONAS important contributions towards the development of a holistic Malaysian society, which is vital in ensuring the continuation of Malaysia’s economic and social advancement.
Through the gallery, PETRONAS provides a platform for expressing views and opinions on issues relating to humanity while promoting art as a universal language that transcends man-made barriers. Such endeavour is hoped to foster closer relations among the people of Malaysia, including with those from other nations, by creating a better understanding of one another’s cultures, lifestyles, beliefs and practices through art.

I’ve been there once with my lecturer and course mates for a field trip and there I was again with Fatty, browsing through arts and installations created by Malaysian young artists to express themselves.

#20 Monsters in our closet.

20131020-132804.jpg
#22 Made with recycled water bottles and water bottle caps.

20131020-132659.jpg
#23 Pinocchio the puppet liar?

20131020-132645.jpg
#24 This is one of the installation that I like the most based on politics. High rank, a puppet who’s good at lying and a bunch of terracotta armies. Go figure.

Young Malaysian Artists: New Object(ion) II will be on until 24th of November so if you’re interested do go and have a look since it’s free anyway. Galeri Petronas will have exhibitions from time to time, so do go to their website and check out on the details to see if these exhibitions suit your liking.

3. Escape Room @ E-curve

Ahh, this is the one that I enjoyed the most! A new activity in town with lots of fun!
If you love crime movies, crime dramas, or crime books you will definitely love this.
If you think you can be a smart detective, here’s something to challenge yourself.

A phenomenon in Japan, China and the United States, where more than 1,000,000 people have played the game, the Real Room Escape will stage its first session in Malaysia this summer. The Room Escape game is a unique, intuitive and interactive experience where teams find mysterious clues based on various story lines to solve live puzzles and ultimately escape the room within a time limit.

So what you do is you go to Escape Room’s website and pick a room among the six rooms that they have.
Each room has their own difficulty level from level 3 to level 5.
Minimum amount of players is 2 and maximum amount of players per room is 6.

There’s only the two of us that night because I want to try it out first and make sure it’s a place worth going with friends and I picked one out of the two level 3 rooms they have which is ‘The Abandoned Factory’.
We have a total of 45 minutes to free ourselves and there’ll be one hint given if you need it.

(Spoiler for some.)

20131020-131837.jpg
#31 The first room that we went in was pitch dark and we were given a torch light to try to take this key off the maze in order to have access into another room.

20131020-131826.jpg
#32 You really need to look thoroughly through the entire room and 6 person in a room is always better than 2. One of our mistake was that we didn’t search the room upside down because Fatty was a little tired from work and I was practically just stoning haha.

20131020-131818.jpg
#33 If you think this is something easy and it’s gonna waste your time, I assure you it’s not. It is very challenging and really do need a lot of brain juice.

20131020-131810.jpg
#34

We failed that night and turned out to be the losers haha but there’s five more rooms and I am determine to go try it all.
Price ranges from Rm32 to Rm36 per pax depending on the day and time you’re gonna book.
One thing good about Escape room is that they’re open till 1am so you can always go even after your overtime.

Other than Escape Room, you may also want to try Misson-Q at Subang Jaya which offers something in similar.
